I get the customer a seat at the table, then turn what they need into product.

I'm Jack, a head of product, currently consulting. At its simplest, my job is to be the voice of the customer inside the business: the person who is never in the room still gets one. I sit across design, engineering, and product, take real customer signal, and turn it into something worth building, launching, and measuring.

Over time that has pulled me into the edges of the business: commercial and contract negotiation, privacy and legal, design systems and critique, and the research, qualitative and quantitative, that points a company in the right direction. Enough of the technical side to read code, weigh cloud trade-offs with a tech lead, and then translate all of it for the people who don't think in systems.

The part that has stuck is ROI. The higher you go, the more the conversation is about return: what to build, what it costs, and how it becomes profit. That is the language leadership speaks, and it is where product, finance, sales, and marketing meet as a single flywheel.

More recently I have been closer to capital raising for early-stage startups, and how companies operate as they scale or go public. I think of myself as T-shaped: depth in product, breadth across the business, and now going deeper in engineering and commercial.
